I elected on Saturday, February 24, to watch Steam Locomotive 45699 Galatea head North through the Lune Gorge from Jeffreys Mount lay-by.
The loco was spectacular – but what a sight greeted me in the lay-by. Fence planks collapsed and in total disarray and over the wall mounds of litter and bottles.
With Easter on the horizon and visitors stopping to admire the views, I hope the authorities can rectify this eyesore before then!
