As a frequent visitor to the Langdale valley I am increasingly frustrated by the complete lack of mobile phone signal in this area.

I guess there are 150-200 properties in Langdale, but more importantly several thousand visitors a year, who quite reasonably should expect to use their phones for social, business and emergency contact.

The phone companies boast of their coverage of the entire motorway network, where nobody lives, providing service to people on the move; the same argument should apply to this important, busy area of central Lakeland.

This has been an issue for many years, and I recall vague promises to do something about it in 2012 and again last year, but never any detailed, concrete proposals.

I call on your readers to lobby their phone companies, the MP, Ofcom and the DCMS and maybe finally we could get some action.
