Saturdays home match with Skelmersdale was a very long and uncomfortable afternoon for all concerned with Kendal Town. Losing 5-1 pretty much summed up the whole match as Kendal never got out of the starting blocks. Credit to Skem who played the best football seen by an opposing side this season, and if they play like that I think they should get promoted to The Unibond Premier Division.

There were many things not quite right with Kendal at the weekend, the lack of a right back has been a major issue for the team in recent week's/months. The teams general attacking and defensive play wasn't up to scratch either.

I think the few main positives i can take from the weekend is the teams effort,David Newne's performance in goal and Paul Byrne who did alright at the weekend.

For Kendal, they just need to ride this storm they are currently going through, they beat Southport in the cup last Wednesday which is the main plus, however they are not delivering the sort of form that was shown against FC United and Bradford Park Avenue.

I still feel that the class will rise again, but I think us as supporters just need to show the patience and keep the faith as Ashy trys to arrest the slide so to speak.

The next match for Town is meant to be Buxton away in the league on Tuesday night, however they are covered in snow down there, so i think it's fair to say that the match will be off. If it is off they are then home to Hednesford this Saturday, the sort of match Town will relish.

Anyhow hopefully these frustrating times will pass and Kendal will find their form again.
