Well Saturdays match with King's Lynn didn't exactly go according to plan!. Not only did Kendal lose 1-0, but Lee Ashcroft who just returned from a touchline ban was sent off again!.

From a footballing point of view, Kendal were fine in the 1st half, playing some neat stuff, but in the 2nd they didn't continue to play like they did in the 1st 45 minutes.

The ball must have stayed in the air for most of the game, both sides were a bit guilty of playing the long ball too much, and Kendal when they play like that are no good, they are used to passing and moving, and taking the game to the opposition.

King's Lynn weren't that great either but they were effective and did what they had to do.

With regards to Ashy being sent off, truth be told I wasn't too sure what happened, it seemed from where i was standing that he said something to the official, but i haven't got a clue what he said or what actually happened.

It was only when i got home I found out a Kendal supporter was shouting abuse at him and his staff!, which left Ashy frustrated (understandably). I don't want to go too much into the incident however i hope the club take some action against this supporter as theirs no need for it!

New signing Ryan Salmon started the match and looked the part in the 1st half and maybe fell away a little in the 2nd, but you have to take into account that it was his 1st home league match for the club. Theirs alot to come from Ryan i believe as the season goes on.

So after the dissapointment of the weekend, Kendal now face a friendly with Motherwell on Tuesday night before they make the 1 hour and a bit journey to play Guiseley in the FA Cup.

Motherwell on Tuesday night will give Ashy the chance to give more of his squad a run out, I think Motherwell will be sending a fairly strong squad for the match.

With regards to the weekend, Town go to Guiseley with a few players missing due to suspension. A tricky match which Kendal are capable of winning. Actually despite losing on Saturday, nobody else in the promotion positions capitalised as such, so Kendal are still in a great position.

I will report back later in the week and look back at the Motherwell friendly.
