The bad weather has been Kendal’s biggest challenge in recent week’s. It’s something the team have dealt with pretty well and after 2 weeks of inactivity, seeing them play 2 matches in league and cup has been a relief for all.

The last 2 matches have been quite entertaining to watch, their’s been moment’s of drama, good play, and total commitment to the cause.

The qualities of both games surprised me as the playing surface has been in a bad way, following the torrential, rain, and whatever else we have had over the past few week’s.

Saturday was the match with 2nd from bottom Ossett; it was a tough encounter against a side that went into the game with a new manager. As has been proven in the past when their's a new man in charge the players always give that extra 50% and that seemed to be the case on Saturday. From being behind twice, Kendal did well to come back, and in the end we were pushing for the win, however Ossett dug in and grabbed what was probably a better point for them.

It’s hard to say wether that draw will be a costly one, but on the plus side we didn’t lose the game however the team know that win’s are needed if they are to make an impression in the promotion race.

Tuesday night was the Unibond Challenge cup home match with FC United, their was hardly any grass left on the pitch by full time it was that muddy. But Kendal got on with it running out 2-1 winners, the cup is not one of the main priorities, however Kendal put in a good display and it’s something they can take with them into the weekend.

Having 2 matches under their belt’s Kendal’s next challenge comes in the away trip to Frickley Athletic.

I always go on about Frickley every season, they play a brand of football which in the past Kendal have struggled to deal with, It’s always a battle when Kendal play them and I would imagine this weekend will be no different.

I am hoping that Kendal’s football will be too much for them, because if Kendal can play like they have been doing in recent week’s Frickley will find it tough.

Kendal know how important the next few matches are staying in touch with the top teams is a must if Kendal are to challenge.
