WELL things are as busy as ever down on the farm - we’re just on with repairing the cow tracks ready for when they go out, and we’re also putting up a few wall gaps that have appeared lately after the recent outbreak of wet weather.

We’ve also just been on with our routine foot trimming which is a never-ending job but its always very beneficial and worthwhile.

Most of my small flock of sheep have lambed now as long as we’ve been there to assist the sheep it’s been okay.

I had some good fortune the other week when selling calves at the mart to enter the calf show and managed to come second in the heifer calf class and third in the bull calf class, which I was really pleased about.

Meanwhile, the dairy industry is in a very rocky situation at the moment after a big supermarket gave its producers a milk price cut which is a kick in teeth.

Things on the YFC front are really picking up a gear with the AGM, at Torquay, just around the corner.
