WELL it has been a busy Christmas this time around, what with the weather we have had - snow, rain and freezing temperatures.

I must say, we had a lot of trouble on Christmas Day mainly due to a big problem with our vacuum pumps in the milking parlour.

They were all frozen up, which was the last thing we needed to be honest with you, but after two hours of defrosting them we got started milking.

But by 11 o’clock, we had finished doing our jobs, so we could enjoy the rest of the day and relax.

I think it is fair to say that we have also had our fair share of snow this year and I must admit our trusty snow plough has been well worth its weight in gold.

Thanks to the plough, we managed to get the milk tanker in everyday without any trouble really which was a huge relief for all of us.

Aside from Christmas and New Year, we have also been on with doing our routine foot trimming this week, which is a very rewarding job.

The cows are milking well and our new nutrionist from the New Breed UK team is doing a top job of feeding our cows.

The team is a real pleasure to work with and has made a real difference to our business.
