We’ve been putting the in-lamb sheep inside today as they are due to start lambing now.

We tend to put them indoors so we can keep an eye on them in case there are any problems and if they are inside it saves us time when looking after them.

We’re also on with walling as we keep finding more gaps – and the wintering sheep have started to go home as spring nears.

The grass has started to grow quickly this week and the ground has also warmed up to.

We have just milk recorded this morning and the cows are milking well. We have had quite a few doing over 60 litres which is excellent to see.

It’s been a bit of a quiet spell with cows calving but in true style there are eight ‘bagged up’ to calve this week, so let’s hope all goes well as we are on with drying some cows off in the morning for a six-week hoiday before they calve down again.

We’ve also got calves going to Bentham Auction Mart, so fingers crossed for good trade.
