THE Westmorland Football League entered into the last weekend before the Christmas break, with 13 league games played across all three divisions.

Kendal United crashed to defeat in Westmorland League Division One with a 4-3 reverse to Pirelli. United showed plenty of spirit, however goal by Lewis Casey, Danny Craig and Bailey Kenny proved to be in vein as the team from Carlisle held out for an important win.

In the other games Burneside picked up a comfortable 5-2 home win over a depleted Kendal County reserve side, while Penrith Reserves won their sixth straight game in a hard-fought 2-0 win at bottom-of-the-table Ambleside United. Lee Stockdale and Haydon Wilson with the goals.

Endmoor KGR climbed to the top of Westmorland League Division Two with an emphatic 4-0 win at Eden Thistle. The goals were shared among Connor Crawshaw-Collins, Shane Lambert, Stefan Otway and Matthew Wilson.

Lamin Cham scored four goals in Castletown United's 8-0 win at Carleton Banks, Dent defeated Staveley United 4-2, Ullswater United picked up a narrow 2-1 home win over Windermere Reserves, while Langwathby United and Greystoke battled out a dramatic 4-4 draw.

In Westmorland League Division Three, Appleby Reserves moved to within three points of league leaders AFC Carlisle after a 9-1 win over Penrith Saints. Jack Overs led the way with four goals, while a hat trick by Andy Butt and goals from Andrew Little and Joshua Addison-Adams completed the rout.

Ibis Reserves picked up a comfortable 3-0 win at Ambleside Town, Shaun Askew with a brace and Josh Ford also on the scoresheet.

Niko Noreci scored four goals as Endmoor KGR Reserves routed Penrith Academy 11-0 at Woodside Road, Penrith Town defeated Kirkoswald Reserves 5-1, while Penrith Royal edged out Lunesdale United Reserves 3-2.
