The Westmorland Football League returned from the Christmas break, on what was a busy Saturday afternoon of action.

Keswick pulled seven points clear at the top of Westmorland League Division One with a hard-fought 3-1 win over Kendal County Reserves. Richard Bannister, Declan Robinson and Lewis Cumber with the goals. Kendal scored a consolation through Jordan Matias, as County Reserves remain at the bottom end of the league.

Kendal United were left to rue a number of missed opportunities as they were held to a 1-1 draw with Burneside at Castle Drive. Matt Kennedy opened the scoring for Kendal, however Burneside stunned the hosts as they scored the equaliser against the run of play.

In the other games Appleby remain second in the division after a 1-0 win at Sedbergh Wanderers, Daniel Robinson with the all-important goal.

Pirelli's good run of form continued after a narrow 2-1 win at Ibis while Windermere picked up a 1-0 win at Penrith Reserves.

Endmoor KGR edged one point clear at the top of Westmorland League Division Two with an emphatic 7-1 win at Castletown United. Braces by Matthew Wilson and Nathan Dixon, while an own goal and goals by Connor Crashaw-Collins and Adam Soulby sealed a comfortable win.

Shap picked up a 4-1 home win over Ullswater United, as they remained just one point behind the leaders, a brace by George Creswell while goals by Luke Frazer and Jordan Palmer eased the Black and Whites to victory.

In the rest of the division Eden Thistle routed Staveley United 6-1 while Sam Hunters brace and a goal by Joe Shorrock helped Kendal United reserves to a 3-1 win at Greystoke.

Wetherigg United Reserves battled to a 4-2 win at Windermere Reserves, Carleton Banks picked up a 3-1 win over Keswick reserves, while Dent defeated Langwathby United 5-2.

In Westmorland League Division Three Appleby Reserves went level on points at the top with AFC Carlisle after a dramatic 4-3 win over Ibis Reserves. Andrew Butt, Kieran Williams, Max Winder and Jonathan Smith with the goals. Ibis' goals came from Josh Ford (2) and Joe Dodds.

Steven Sewell's hat trick helped Ambleside Town to a comfortable 7-2 win over Penrith Academy, Ambleside United Reserves picked up a narrow 2-1 win over Burneside Reserves, Kirkoswald Reserves defeated Endmoor KGR Reserves 4-2, Penrith Town were also 4-2 winners after they defeated Lunesdale United Reserves, while Penrith Saints and Sedbergh Wanderer Reserves battled out a 3-3 draw.
