AMBLESIDE picked up an emphatic 7-1 home victory against Dalston at The Cinder Ovens playing surface in Kendal.

The hosts dominated from the start and created plenty of opportunities through Donna Robinson, Maddie Townson and Jess Young.

Dalston to their credit defended well while their goalkeeper made a lot of good stops as Ambleside piled on the pressure.

Ambleside opened the scoring ten minutes into the first half when Townson slotted the ball into the net.

The Greens doubled their lead five minutes later after another clinical attack saw Robinson score from close range.

The home team who were not at their best in the first half created lots of chances while Dalston defended bravely

Ambleside were more expansive in their play during the second half, with Townson scoring her second of the afternoon while Ailsa Richardson made it 4-0 with another good finish past the keeper.

Dalston pulled a goal back after a spell of pressure saw the visitors score from close range, however, Ambleside stepped up their play as Rio Knowles scored the hosts' fifth goal of the afternoon.

Ambleside from that point rounded off the game with goals by Amanda Faulkner and Jess Young.

Ambleside are home to Penrith this Saturday with the game getting underway at 12.30.
