While the first team enjoyed a weekend off, Kendal Rugby Club's junior squads took centre stage at Mintbridge on Sunday
The Under 7s to the under 11s were playing matches against Preston Grasshoppers, while the Under 13 and 14 teams had a constructive training session on the new 4g facility.
While most would be wrapped up against the wind, snow, sleet and rain, Kendal’s Hornets Juniors played some good rugby against a very strong Preston Grasshoppers set up that brought plenty of junior players from their respective age categories.
Kendal’s younger teams played tag rugby, while the older age categories were involved in contact rugby, but each age categories gained valuable experience in what were competitive games.
The clubs under 11s had a team of girls that were mixed together with the boys after they played a fixture against Preston’s Under 11 side.
This was a new initiative by the club who will be forming a Junior Girl's team from September. If any girls are interested, please contact Kendal Rugby Club for more details.
