We want to tell readers about the toilet twinning project. We are year 6s from Staveley CE primary school and are very pleased with ourselves for raising enough money for three toilets. Each toilet costs £60 and we organised the money raising throughout the school.
We have raised money for a toilet in India, another in Bangladesh and one in Burundi.
The reason we have raised money for toilets is that in a lot of countries there are diseases which can cause people to die from unclean water and poor sanitation.
These diseases are being picked up when people go to the toilet in holes in the ground.
Did you know 1,800 children die every day from these diseases? One toilet can save thousands of lives every year! That’s why we care so much.
