In these days of austerity can someone please enlighten me why a traffic island has been put in the middle of the road on the A684, within the 30mph limit on the entrance to Kendal on the Sedbergh road opposite the allotments?
Could I ask what useful purpose the traffic island serves and how much it cost?
Could I also ask why, on the same road, where the 30mph sign into town is situated, the road has been narrowed on either side for about ten feet? May I also ask what useful purpose this serves and how much this cost?
Could I also ask which authority is paying for these most wonderful constructions? Is it Cumbria County Council, South Lakeland District Council or the Department of Transport?
I look forward to a constructive reply because as far as I can see neither of these projects serves a purpose and is a complete waste of money.
