I am currently working on my family tree and I am trying to find details on relations of mine, who lived in Kendal.
Specifically I am looking for information on a Richard Joseph Cousins and his family. I understand that he died in May 1922.
His wife Mary (nee Walsh) died several years earlier and they had seven children, six daughters and a son.
Richard Cousins, who was a tailor by trade, ran a successful gent’s outfitting business at 26A Stricklandgate, Kendal from about 1890.
The family home was on Aynam Road, where four of his spinster daughters lived until the early 1960s.
A niece or grand-daughter, Mary Sheila Reddan, was married to a Geoffrey Wilson, a solicitor, who was a partner in a law firm in Kendal. The Cousins were Roman Catholics and they attended The Holy Trinity and St George Church, Kendal.
I would really appreciate it if any of your readers, who have information on this family, would contact me. My email address is dpma@eircom.net and my mobile number is +353 85 885 4842.
