The current situation concerning road and bridge closures must surely strengthen Kendal's need for a Northern by-pass.
Wagons trying to get to the northern end of town must have considerable difficulty and one fears for the effect such problems must have on the town's economy.
Money has been made available to Carlisle on at least two occasions for road improvements to help traffic flow, but when is Kendal going to get a road to help the movement between the north and south of the town?
