I would like to thank everyone who helped me put on the two enjoyable charity concerts in Kendal to raise money for flood victims, particularly sponsors Emirates for flying Lauren-Lee Bock and the band from Cape town plus Blue Fin and Aviva for insuring us for free. The Villa for accommodating Lauren and the band so royally plus Blue star for Transporting them from the airport and around Kendal again gratis!

Others that deserve a mention are MC Kim Inglis, auctioneer Bill Nelson and Martin Buck, our sound man.

Arnold Clark have us an amazing Vauxhall Corsa for the raffle. I would like to thank the Prince of Wales and the Prime Minister for their generous prizes, as well as Stollers for donating so much furniture and Robinson’s Electrical for the flat screen TV.

Others who helped included Debbie MacKee and the team at the town hall; Derek Jones and everyone at the leisure centre; The Brewery Arts Centre for selling the tickets, plus all those media organisations that promoted the events.

We have raised £5,000 for the people who were flooded locally and this will be donated to the Cumbria Community Foundation. While Lauren and I are delighted with £5,000 we both feel we could have raised so much more.

The people who were in the audience had a fabulous evening watching a London quality production - the positive feedback has been truly humbling.

Why did the good people of Kendal not come out in greater numbers? We would have loved to transform lives, rather than make a small difference.

I am looking for constructive criticism so we can get it right next time.

Lauren would like to thank the people of Kendal for their kindness to her and the band while she was in town.
