I read the report 'Farron on the attack at our Glastonbury' (Gazette, March 17) and, in particular, the quotation by Mr Tim Farron: "The NHS is not safe in Tory hands."
Then why did the Liberal Democrats ignore pleas to vote against The 2012 Health and Social Care Act during the 2010-2015 Coalition Government?
Although the previous Labour Government had begun to privatise the NHS, this Act was to set it on the present path towards full privatisation to place the health service nearer the American style of health care, with the name 'NHS' just a shell.
During the period leading to the bill going through the House of Commons I, along with thousands of others, wrote urging the Lib Dems to oppose the bill. I am sure one of the reasons the Liberal Democrats lost heavily at the 2015 General Election is due to the Lib Dem support for Lansley's Act.
I wonder what the present position of the Lib Dems is regarding the Tory Government intention to privatise the NHS.
