Taking the Ofsted inspectors' ludicrous jobsworth approach to its farcical conclusion (Gazette, March 23, 'Fence frenzy'), would a school, where every one of its pupils goes to either Cambridge or Oxford university, be placed in special measures, because it hasn’t got a fence around it?
And come the next Ofsted inspection, if a school doesn’t have armed security guards at the gates in the fence through which all pupils and staff, complete with their ID cards, have to enter, will it be placed in special measures again?
