Although I can understand some of the concerns of Nukewatch and Radiation Free Lakeland regarding the transportation of nuclear warheads on the UK road network (Gazette, June 1, 'Give us warning over warheads'), giving advanced warning of the movement of these warheads seems to me to be an open invitation to terrorist attacks and demonstrations.
Although the transportation vehicles may appear old, maintenance will be of the highest standard. The risk of an accident and damage resulting in a radiation leak I would think is minimal.
