WHAT a day! After challenging weather conditions during the build, the sunshine on Westmorland County Show day was extremely welcome and certainly contributed to what was an absolutely fantastic event.
It was a true honour to host His Royal Highness the Prince of Wales on his first visit to the show.
Prince Charles took the time to talk to so many visitors, stewards, traders and exhibitors on his tour of the show, which was the highlight of the day for many.
The quality of the livestock was superb, while this year was another record year for sheep entries.
The new 'Equine Village' proved very popular with exhibitors, while allowing more space on the showground, which was bustling with activity - from the fantastic marquees to the trade stand, 'Forestry Arena' and 'Countryside Area', to the ever popular food hall and food theatre.
Attendance this year was an amazing 30,900 and many positive comments have already been received, with numerous congratulating everyone involved in making the show such a success. Please do feel free to give us feedback, as this proves to be invaluable in the future of the show.
