WE MIGHT be past the official peak of the 2013 Noctilucent Cloud season, but that doesn't mean it's not worth looking anymore. In 2011 the best displays of these beautiful, night shining clouds came in mid-July, so the best may still be to come.

So, everyone, please keep an eye on the northern sky around midnight on clear nights. If you see bright patches of strange waves, swirls and streamers of silvery blue light you're seeing NLC. Unlike the northern lights which can move rapidly, NLC hang almost motionless in the sky, like they've been sprayed onto it.

And if you follow me on Twitter I'll even tell you when you can see them! @mars_stu.
