A NURSERY teacher said she was ‘overjoyed’ after her Montessori School was rated ‘outstanding’ in a recent Ofsted inspection.
Melanie Knight, who runs Acorn Montessori Nursery at Allithwaite, said the news was like an ‘early Christmas’ and reflected well on years of hard work.
Inspector Eileen Grimes, who visited the facility for three to five-year-olds, said in her report that children were exceptionally well-behaved as they ‘happily shared, took turns and played together’. Melanie said, “We are delighted with the report which reflects the hard work and dedication of the staff who are passionate about the welfare and development of children.”
Ms Grimes also praised the ‘welcoming, bright environment’ which was organised flexibly and creatively to help make children confident and enthusiastic to learn.
Acorn Montessori Nursery School is an independent nursery school which was set up in 1993.
