IT IS murder mystery time again for Burton Amateur Dramatic Society.
The lads and lasses of BADS are back in the spotlight with Act of Murder, a play written by Joan Lee, and take to the stage tonight (Friday) and tomorrow (Saturday) at Burton Memorial Hall, on Main Street, Burton-in-Kendal, and on Saturday, November 29, at Kirkby Lonsdale Institute.
Act of Murder is set in an amateur dramatic company somewhere in the north of England. As members of the cast arrive for the dress rehearsal, certain secrets start to emerge, each person has something they could feel is worth committing a murder to protect, but only one of them actually did the deed… As usual, BADS are performing the play as dinner theatre, with lashings of Jan Dobson’s famous hot pot supper in the main interval, followed by coffee while the audience mulls over the clues and works out who actually ‘dunnit.’ The play also sees Tony Pennington in the director’s chair for the first time.
Included in the cast are Katie Bebbington, Roger Bingham, Felicity Holloway and Alyson Yates.
Tickets are available from Burton Village Store (Main Street) for the Burton performances, and from Sienna Contemporary Jewellery (Main Street, Kirkby Lonsdale) for the Kirkby performance.
Those who want to go along can also book by telephoning Alyson Yates on 01524-781498.
Performances start 7.30pm.
