BENTHAM boxing ace Tomi ‘TNT’ Tatham produced another dynamite performance with a knock-out in his second professional bout.

The 23-year-old light heavyweight knocked out the experienced Elvis Dube in the third round with a left hook as he remained unbeaten as a professional.

Tatham produced a solid first round at the Blackpool Winter Gardens with his jab and combinations, but the second round was a much closer affair as he was caught out a few times with some strong hooks from Dube.

But the third round was a different story. With Tatham on the ropes and under pressure from Dube, he unleashed a left hook that he had been working on in his training to floor the 34-year-old.

The punch was so hard that referee Alvin Finch, from Kendal, didn’t even bother to do a count, with Dube out cold from the blow.

Dube recovered to congratulate his opponent after the punch.

Despite the win, Tatham said there was a lot he still needed to work on if he wanted to progress up the professional ladder.

“I really enjoyed the fight but I made a few mistakes so it’s a learning curve as my coach Karl Ince says, and I’ll be better on my next outing.

“Elvis is a great guy and very strong - it was a very hard fight against a tough and far more experienced opponent than me.”

Tatham, who knocked out Nick Gigg on his professional debut in October, also thanked his fans and coaches for their support on the night, and he said he was looking forward to his next fight.

“I'm going to enjoy my Christmas now and keep training and hopefully next year I will have more great fights and top support.”

Tatham was fighting on the undercard of Brian ‘The Lion’ Rose, who successfully defended his British light middleweight belt against Sam Webb on points. The latter fighter announced his retirement from the sport after the bout.
