KENDAL began 2013 in style when they demolished Wigton 9-1 at home in the Premier Division of the North Hockey Womens League.

Sally Scott, Nicola Conway and Vicky Jones bagged a brace apiece, while Abby Bland, Laura Morris and a Wigton own goal deflected in at a short corner gave Kendal a comfortable victory.

Wigton scored just their second goal of their entire campaign in this match.

Sunday was a different prospect altogether as the Whites took on a well-organised Chester side.

Chester always threatened though and scored a breakaway goal despite some solid tackling from Laura Morris to make it 2-1 at half time.

It remained tight in the second half, Kendal scoring twice through Nicola Conway and Carole Quill.

Chester worked hard though and managed to convert two short corners leaving the final score 4-3 to Kendal.
