Kendal 37, Huddersfield 20.

Spectators were treated to more thrilling running rugby from Kendal as they ran in seven tries to two to progress to the next round of the EDF Intermediate Cup.

The visitors were outplayed in every department except for kicking with five Kendal tries arriving courtesy of the handling and adventure by probably the best attacking back division in the North Division while the forwards showing dominance to score twice from powerful mauls.

Huddersfield touched down twice on defensive mistakes and the asset of a good long kicker allowed them to lead 17-15 after 30 minutes, but with fly-half Massy Tuhakaraina distributing fine long passes, full-back Simon Mulholland cutting swathes through the defence Kendal turned it round to 20-17 at half-time then eased away in the second half with the wind at their backs.
