Caldy 39, Kendal 12.
Defeat at the hand of table-topping Caldy was doubly damaging for Kendal as it also cost them second place in North Division One.
With Beverley and Altrincham Kersal winning Kendal have slipped to fourth place in the table.
Kendal now take a break from league action to travel to New Brighton in the EDF Intermediate Cup on Saturday, but the following weekend have a chance to recoup lost ground in the league when they entertain Altrincham at Mint Bridge.
