IT was a Scandinavian success story for Kendal Judo Club’s Performance Academy after winning an impressive medal haul during a national cup.

Accompanied by chief coach Michael Liptrot, four fighters travelled to Halmstad for Sweden’s National Cup.

There, they took on some of the best young Swedish players and brought home six medals - including three golds.

Isaac Hill swept aside the competition in the under 18 years under 66kg category - beating two of his opponents in less than a minute to claim the gold.

In the following day’s senior competition Isaac took even less time to beat his three opponents on the way to the top gong.

Not to be outdone, Zac Howard dispatched his opponents in the boy’s under 73kg category with ease to give him the gold medal.

In the senior under 73kg category the following day Zac won bronze after a close defeat in the semi-final.

Elsewhere, Calum Clee lost his first contest against the eventual gold medallist Oskar Jaskari but came back very strongly in the round robin group of boys under 55kg to win silver.

And Lewis Brooks won a bronze medal in the boys under 81kg weight group.
