FEIRUZ ABDULLAH and Mary Combe both scored two goals apiece as Manchester City hit five at Parkside Road to deny Kendal a return to form.

Beth Mecca was the other name on the scoresheet as City took advantage of league leaders Blackburn Community dropping points against Accrington Girls and Ladies.

Abdullah had already forced Jen Carradus into a save before the visitors’ early dominance told in the tenth minute as Mecca slotted home after a well-worked attack.

Without a win since dismantling Carlisle United in mid-October, Kendal fell further behind after 18 minutes as Abdullah outpaced the home defence and slotted home.

Bella Martindale struck the crossbar before Nic Martindale failed to convert Kendal’s best chance of the afternoon, firing straight at City keeper Elizabeth Stealman after being found by Elsie Atkinson.

The away side made the game safe with quarter of an hour remaining, Abdullah finding the net after being played in by Chloe Harris.

Combe’s late double – the second from the penalty spot – secured the points for City although her joy was short-lived, receiving a red card following an altercation with Faye Armstrong.
