ULVERSTON swimmers Tom Robinson and Rhiannon Ellis achieved a string of personal bests and North West Regional Qualifying Times at the Best Future Stars meet in Wigan.
Both came up against top-class swimmers from across the north-west with Robinson competing in the 13-year-old age group and Ellis in the 14 and over category.
Robinson’s best swim came in the 200m butterfly – a fourth-place finish – although his time was inside the Regional Qualifying Time and only a second outside the National Qualifying Time.
He then produced a personal best in the 200m individual medley – one of nine for each swimmer during the course of the day as well as a second qualifying time.
Ellis was also on top form, taking sixth-place in the 200m breaststroke to collect a Regional Age Group Qualifying Time and an Open Age Winter Regional Qualifying Time.
This performance also brought her the Ulverston 14-16-year old club record, while she went on to record the fifth fastest time for a 14-year-old at 200m butterfly – her second regional time.
