A SLIP of 20 seniors competed in the traditional Boxing Day trail at Kendal racecourse with 2013 champion puppy Jenny’s Choice taking the win.
Closely-bunched when heading out, three had pulled clear when returning to sight with Jenny’s Choice edging our Jimmy Nik in second and Baroness in third.
Only seven seniors completed the course with the rest jumping the wall and running on, although all returned safely.
First up on the day were 15 pups with Marli and Songbrid out in front early on, later joined by Pip’s Spirit as Dark Ruby led the rest of the field.
Marli completed the win by a couple of lengths from Songbird who was a similar distance ahead of Pip’s Spirit.
In the second in the series of Kendal trails on Sunday, 20 seniors competed as Highness took the win with Full House next home and Jimmy Nik third.
In the pups category, 14 took to the trail with Songbird maintaining a comfortable advantage to win from litter mate Huntman’s Jewel in second and Mistress third.
