OLD rivalries are revisited Satuday, January 6 when Kendal Town FC and Fleetwood Town meet yet again. This time the draw of the UniBond League Cup has thrown up an extra local derby between the two Premier Division sides and this time Kendal have home advantage. Kick-off at Town's Planet Conservatories Stadium, Parkside Road, is at 3pm.

RUGBY league action resumes Saturday, January 6 after the holiday break and Kendal travel to Westoe determined to maintain their push for promotion from North Division One. Currently lying in third place, Kendal need to continue their excellent pre-Christmas form to mount a challenge for at least a play-off place. Kirkby Lonsdale are hot favourites to win North West Division One and they continue their campaign with a trip to Birchfield.

SUNDAY (January 7) sees the start of fell running's Kendal Winter League. The first event is a 4.5-mile race at Scout Scar and starts from Brigsteer road at noon. Shorter races for juniors are also on offer.

HOUND trailing enthusiasts will be heading for Coniston Tops at 2.30pm on Sunday (January 7) for another session of pre-season trials.
