CARTMEL’S Jack Allcock made his presence felt for England Counties U20 and celebrated his call-up with a try as the hosts beat Georgia in a match played at Shelford.

Allcock clattered through and touched down shortly after the half-hour mark, with the openside flanker making a significant contribution to England’s 36-10 win.

With Allcock again featuring, England then played a second match against Georgia a few days later, this time losing 23-22 in a closely-fought encounter at Cambridge.

The 19-year-old is currently preparing himself for a campaign of National League One rugby after committing his future to Darlington Mowden Park RUFC and agreeing terms on a new deal.

Joining an already competitive back row contingent, Allcock arrived at Darlington Mowden Park following a stint with Northampton Saints and was a standout player last season.

Rewarded for his efforts at club level, Allcock’s brand of attacking rugby also saw him represent his County and the North of England this year.
