AN EXCITING new development at Kendal’s Carus Green Golf Club opens on Friday.

Over the past six months, under phase one of the plans, the club has installed two state-of-the-art teaching and fitting studios as well as an indoor putting green which allows putter fitting with the latest ball roll technology.

Using the latest simulator, golfers can also play numerous courses such as St Andrews, Augusta, Turnberry and Pebble Beach.

Membership is available for the Academy starting on September 1 which includes 100 balls per day, use of the putting green (subject to availability), one free introductory lesson, 10 per cent off all golf lessons, 12 vouchers for use of the simulator and one free round on the golf course.

Prices start from £190 for existing members.

This weekend there are free 15 minute taster sessions in the studio.

Call the shop on 01539 721097 to arrange a time. Sessions run from 9am-5pm on Saturday and 9am-4pm on Sunday.

Phase two will open later this year and feature an artificial short game area.
