ROB Wilson and Isaac Kusaloka climbed off the substitutes bench to help Kendal Town edge a seven goal thriller over Harrogate Railway - extending manager Mike Stringfellow's unbeaten run to five games.

Jeff King, on his home debut, gave the Mintcakes the lead with a deflected 30th minute strike but Kendal were pegged back just five minutes later when Malachi Farquharson levelled.

Late on, visiting striker Nathan Cartman fired home a penalty before Wilson and Kusaloka looked to have given the Mintcakes the win - only for Michael Morris to score deep into injury time to ensure a final nervy few minutes.

Stringfellow made two changes to the side that fought back to a 2-2 draw away at Ossett Town as King came in for Rob Wilson and ex-Morecambe striker Nick Rogan went straight into the starting 11 in place of Danny Forbes.

The first chance on goal went to the away side when a King pass was charged down in midfield. The ball deflected to Cartman who was forced wide by Tom Stewart before he spooned his effort over the bar.

Craig Carney and Rory Winters then both had half-chances before King broke the deadlock.

Lydon Hodgkiss found space on the left. His low cross was not dealt with and the ball fell to King on the edge of the box. He scuffed his effort but his strike wrong-footed Karl Dean in the Harrogate goal and nestled into the bottom left.

The lead did not last long, though, when Farquharson rose unchallenged from a corner and nodded home.

But Jackson restored Kendal's lead on the stroke of half-time. King skipped past his man and the number 9 was in the right place at the right time to poke in past Dean from three yards.

The home side dominated much of the second half but could not find the third game to kill the game off. Wilson replaced Tommy Watson and Kusaloka entered the fray in place of Roagn as Kendal searched for their third goal but it was Harrogate who scored next on the 79 minute mark.

Skipper Warren Beattie was judged to have used his hand in the box as Cartman tucked the resulting penalty down the middle.

Parity however did not last long. Kusaloka was released down the right and his pull back found Wilson on the 18 yard line. The midfielder curled his effort beautifully past the despairing dive of Dean.

The game looked secure after 88 minutes when Jackson seized upon a loose back header from Joshua Simpson. He unselfishly squared the ball to the waiting Kusaloka who made no mistake under pressure from Dean.

Centre-half Michael Morris thumped home a late consolation goal to set up a nervy final few moments but Kendal held on to pick up their third win in twelve attempts.
