THE FUTURE is bright for Windermere Golf Club as their junior team secures new sponsorship deals.

South Lakes companies Heart of the Lakes and McClures have granted annual sponsorship to the club's youths which enables them to get new kits and pay for tuition.

This should ensure young talent stays at the club and improves.

Heart of the Lakes are renowned in the region for their community and charitable initiatives, supporting the Kelsick Educational Foundation and the Brathay Trust as well as winning the ‘Community Involvement’ award at the CN Group Business Awards.

Chris Jackson, company partner, said: "“We are delighted to be able to provide assistance to Windermere golf club’s junior team and will be following their progress with great interest.

“The club has some fine young players, most notably, Adam Chapman, who has recently been selected for the England squad and we are eager to help more young players reach their potential in the sport.”

McClures also give to a wide variety of local causes, supporting golf days, hospital and church charities and in particular, St Mary’s Hospice.

Windermere Golf Club's Junior Chairman, Dan Spencer, said: "“We owe grateful thanks to both Heart of the Lakes and McClures for their support in sponsoring the junior team.

“To have two quality local businesses behind the lads is great and we hope that with the benefit of the on-going tuition in particular, improvements to their game will be possible.”
