WINTER training is under way at Kendal Triathlon Club Juniors after a strong debut season.
The club was set up by Kendal Triathlon Club in March 2014 to support local children competing in Junior Triathlons, Aquathlons and Duathlons.
The club’s membership is growing and at the end of the North West Junior Triathlon season, several children achieved great successes in the North West Junior Triathlon Series.
The series is run from February to September each year and junior athletes must complete at least eight events all over the North West.
At the end of the competition season, six of the juniors athletes had competed in eight qualifying events and were placed in the North West competition.
In T1 events (150m swim, 4K bike ride and 1.2K run) Georgia Heath was 12th place and Amelia King finished 17th place out of 124 competitors.
In the T2 events (200m swim, 6K bike ride and 1.8K run) Alice Eastwood was ninth place, Madeleine King 11th, Rebecca Dyer 15th and Emily Gibson 19th out of 105 competitors.
