ULVERSTON Otters took 12 swimmers to Ponds Forge at Sheffield to swim in an Open Meet and came away with a huge medal haul with almost all of them achieving personal best times.

In the 10-year-old age group both Indya Sharp and Shannon Parker had some fabulous swims.

In the 12-year-old girls age group Anya Sharp and Starr Huntigton both achieved medal places as Taylor Aplin led the way with a six medal haul.

Joshua Turner had a fantastic meet with medals in all five of his events

The girls 13-year-age group saw Nicola Capstick lead the way with personal bests in all events along with speeding tickets and medals.

Georgina Milburn and Katie Miller also picked up medals in their events.

For the boys Niall Cush showed his dominance in the breaststroke events gaining medals in both his events.

Rhiannon Ellis also reigned supreme in the breaststroke with medals too in four other events.

Ulverston Otters were one of the smallest clubs competing, however their presence was huge with a total medal haul consisting of six speeding tickets, 15 golds, 10 silver and 10 bronze.

A small number of swimmers stayed for the next day of competition where again Joshua Turner dominated the pool winning two firsts and a second.

Indya Sharp beat off the opposition to win a silver in the 50m Butterfly.

Nicola Capstick, Anya Sharp and Rhiannon Ellis all qualified for the finals of their events gaining more personal best times.
