RYAN Brown bagged a hat-trick as Askam United put Ambleside to the sword in one of just nine fixtures played across all five divisions of the West Lancashire Football League.

Callum Rayner and Kyle Jefferson were also on the scoresheet as Askam moved up to ninth place while Ambleside, whose solitary goal was scored by Kacper Kesy, remain flirting with relegation in 13th place, just three points ahead of bottom club Bolton County in Division One.

Elsewhere in the league, GSK Ulverston Rangers lost for the fifth game on the bounce in a 2-0 home defeat to mid-table Tempest United thanks to goals from Liam Stewart and Danny Ashcroft.

The only other game in Division One saw Fulwood Amateur's Mark Wane score a hat-trick against Hawcoat Park to help extend his team's lead at the summit to four points.

In Division Two league leaders Ladybridge put seven for no reply past third-placed Leyland United while a Matthew Lockley treble saw Walney Island edge past Furness Rovers in a 3-2 win.

A late Ollie Crolla winner saw Blackpool Wren Rovers Reserves victorious over Eagley Reserves while Coppull United Reserves and Garstang Rovers shared a spoil of the points

No games were played in Division Two Reserves while Burnley United and Coppull United picked up wins in the Premier Division over Euxton Villa and Fleetwood Hesketh respectively.
