HELM Hill runner Tom Addison finished just eleven seconds outside the course record he set last year in the four mile Loughrigg Fell Race.

There was 189 runners on the start line for the race, which was organised by Ambleside Athletic Club, last Wednesday evening.

Addison romped home to win in 26:21 and was closely followed by cousin Mark Addison, also of Kendal-based Helm Hill, in 26:52.

Keswick's Carl Bell completed the top three, holding off competition from Stuart Bond of Dark Peak by just two seconds.

Sarah McCormack, from the host club, finished 21st overall and was the first female home in a time of 30:20.
