HELM Hill ultra-distance runner Adam Perry demonstrated that he is well on the road to recovery less than a fortnight after his brave attempt to run a record 78 Lake District peaks in under 24-hours.
Despite failing in his attempt to break the 18-year-old record, the Sedbergh-based athlete still managed to conquer 51 peaks in 15 hours covering 61 gruelling miles.
Last Friday's Kirkby Stephen Sports fell race was no more than a 'sprint' in comparison but Perry, who works for the Yorkshire Dales National Park Authority, still managed to notch a victory coming home in 28-08. He was followed over the line by Eden's Charlie Lowther (28-43) and Black Combe's Harvey Lord (28-54).
The first woman to finish was Howgill's Heidi Dent, finishing ninth overall in 30-24, and Helm Hill's Kath Aubrey (34-24) was second and first FV50 just five places further behind.
