TENNIS ace James Griffin had a day to remember when he was invited to attend a training camp with Judy Murray at Bisham Abbey, National Sports Centre in Buckinghamshire.

The talented Kendal youngster and 14 other of the most talented 10 to12-year-olds in Great Britain were invited to attend the three-hour camp where Judy gave advice on training schedules, competition play and physical profiling.

And in a 90 minutes Q and A, the youngsters also got to quiz Judy about Andy Murray, her Wimbledon and Olympic Games gold medal winning son.

James, who attends Casterton, Sedbergh Preparatory School and is a member of Kendal, Heversham and the Manchester Northern Tennis Clubs

He trains both locally with his coach father Jon Griffin and at the prestigious Manchester Northern Tennis Club where former British Davis Cup player and Grand Slam Player David Shaw heads up James`s tennis programme with former professional women`s player Lucy Fletcher working on James`s movement and strength and conditioning.

Shaw, who has coached two players to the world`s top 200, has high hopes for the youngster.

"James`s work ethic, dedication and physical scores are phenomenal, the next 18 months are all about getting his technique perfect then you will see his huge potential really start to come through," said Shaw.

At the moment James is ranked number five in Great Britain based on the LTA European Age Group Rankings.

David has organised a host of North West and International Sponsors to fund James`s training programme including Roundhouse Properties, Boost Juice Bars and another anonymous title sponsor from Dubai.

Head UK also have given James a racquet, clothing and training shoes contract.
