THE annual Lancaster midweek 10k road race takes place on Wednesday, July 15 at 7.30pm.

It is organised by Lancaster & Morecambe Athletics Club and again this year will be held from the athletics track adjacent to the Salt Ayre Sports Centre near Lancaster – with a popular route newly launched in 2014.

There will be prizes for the first 3 men and 3 women, and prizes for each veteran category, from 35 for women and 40 for men.

There will also be bonus prizes of £50 for the man and/or woman breaking the course records, which are 33.32 men and 37.39 women.

This year the race will also be used by the police for their local annual championships.

The entry fee is £10 for runners already in running clubs (attached) and £12 for non-attached, with an additional £2 fee for entries on the evening of the race.

The entry fee includes refreshments at the end of the race.
