BOWLS: Warton duo star at Burneside
THE Burneside Open Pairs Competition, sponsored by Anglers Trust has been won by Warton pair Ronnie Boyd and Ken McQueen.
They beat Andy and Billy Thorton of Hale 21-10 in a closely-fought final - the score not reflecting the game as both sets of finalists played consistently well all day.
The beaten semi-finalists were Joyce and Mal Barker of Netherfield and Danny Kirby (Bare) and Barry Casson (Warton).
