HOLME A have stretched their lead over Victoria A at the top of Kendal and District Bowling League Division One to six points as they edge closer to the league title.

Holme won 9-1 at Burton A while Victoria edged a 6-4 win at home to sixth place Levens A.

The next few weeks are going to be critical to establish who is going to take the top three places in the division this year. Kings Arms Hale A currently occupy third spot and have a five point cushion over Bowness A in fourth after their convincing 9-1 win over Lower Holker A.

Bowness A dropped points as they drew 5-5 away at Burneside A.

Lindale A lead the way in Division Two after beating promotion-chasing Crosthwaite A 7-3 But second-placed Netherfield C remain in the hunt and their 9-1 win over Allithwaite A cut Lindale's lead to seven points.

Third-placed Kirkby Lonsdale A remain just two points behind as they also won 9-1 against Victoria B Ambleside B's strong second half to the season continued as they beat Bowness B 8-2 to remain in the promotion mix-up.

Ambleside A's lead at the top of the table has been cut to five points as they lost 7-3 at Holme C who are up to third place.

Second-placed Abbot Hall took advantage of Ambleside A's slip as they won 8-2 at Hawkshead.

Only a massive slip up will deny Burton B the Division Four title as they beat Milnthorpe B 9-1 to move 12 points clear at the top of the table while second placed Heversham A lost 7-3 at Kings Arms Hale.

Third-placed Subscription B are ending season in good form after they beat Langdale 8-2.

In Division Five, Victoria C produced the result of the week as they beat Allithwaite C 10-0 to move within three points of leaders Arnside B who lost for only the second time this season, going down 6-4 at fourth-placed Lower Holker C . Windermere C remain in third place even after their 9-1 defeat at Kirkby Lonsdale.

In Division Six, Bowness C upset the odds when they beat leaders Burneside C 7-3 while second placed Windermere D continued to push for promotion after enjoying a 9-1 win over Subscription D.

Good away results from both Staveley C and Victoria D this week, Staveley C winning 7-3 at Endmoor Cand Victoria D winning at Milnthorpe C keep the division competitive until the end.
