WARTON A extended their lead at the summit of Division One of the South Westmorland Seniors Bowling League with a 6-2 win over Levens A.

Netherfield A lost ground on the league leaders after a shock 6-1 defeat at sixth place Silverdale A but Kirkby Lonsdale leapt out of the relegation zone with a 7-1 win over Windermere.

With this result they are now four points above Windermere and eight above bottom club Hale.

There was no change in the top four places of Division Two as Holme, Bolton-le-Sands, Crosthwaite A and Ingleborough all sealed victories – and Heversham A and Carnforth B are in the danger zone with 52 and 41 points respectively.

In Division Three, Endmoor A’s 6-2 win over Milnthorpe saw them leapfrog their opponents into first place.

Victoria are now out of the relegation zone - but only by two points - after beating Staveley A.

Burneside B maintain their lead at the top of Division Four with 68 points following a 7-1 win at home to Levens B. Just six points separate Burneside and third-placed Crosthwaite B, who beat Bowness B 6-2, while defeats for Ingleborough B and Bowness B kept them in the relegation zone.

There was no movement for the top four teams in Division Five as Abbot Hall B, Burton-in-Lonsdale, Arnside B and Silverdale B all won.
