LOWER Holker Bowling Club's Graham Wood defeated Tom Dennison of Levens to win the Division One final of the Kendal and District Bowling League 's Championship weekend.

The events took place on Saturday and Sunday and saw two of the top players represent their team in a one day divisional competition,

To show the versatility of the league this year there was a new Division Six competition held at Heversham Bowling club in which the competition was started with 92-year-old bowler Frank Langstaff of Subscription D delivering the first bowl, and completed with a final bowl by one of the league's younger players, Michael Wilson, 12, of Victoria D.

Saturday:

Division Three, held at Kirkby Lonsdale BC. Winner - Mike Eckersley Ingleborough A, runner up - John Dodd Ambleside B

Division Four, held at Ambleside BC. Winner - Peter Shaw Heversham A, runner up - Neil Dodd Heversham A

Division Five, held at Sedbergh BC. Winner - Joyce Heaton Arnside B, runner up - Chris West Windermere C

Division Six, held at Heversham BC. Winner – Clive Langley Bowness C, runner up - Michael Wilson Victoria

Sunday:

Division One, held at Crosthwaite BC. Winner- Graham Wood Lower Holker A, runner up – Tom Dennison Levens A

Division Two, held at Burneside BC. Winner- Martin Wilson Crosthwaite A, runner up - David Wilson Crosthwaite A
