TOMI 'TNT' Tatham lived up to his explosive reputation by blitzing his opponent en route to securing the ninth win of his promising career.

The Bentham boxer beat Carl Wild by technical knockout in the second round after dominating the bout, which took place at Manchester's Victoria Warehouse on Saturday, October 24.

His powerful punching style proved too much for Wild, who was visibly rocked by a body shot before seeking refuge on the ropes.

Tatham however gave him no respite and mercilessly pummelled Wild until the referee was forced to step in, much to the delight of the 100 or so fans who had made the journey to cheer TNT to victory.

To make his achievement all the more impressive, Tatham disposed of Wild within two rounds - it took former WBO and Commonwealth champion Enzo Maccarinelli six rounds back in 2013.

The 26-year-old said: "I got a nice start. I went out and used my jab and I was composed and didn't take any stupid shots. In the second round I could see the openings coming and I took the opportunity and went for it.

"I got him on the ropes and worked the head and body. Sometimes when they're on the ropes you start diving in but I was looking where I was punching.

"I was letting go with the right and dropping down to the body then I thought 'I hope the referee pulls him because I'm knackered'!"

He thanked the supporters who spurred him on all the way, describing them as 'amazing' and saying 'they always bring the noise'.

Despite being billed as Tatham's last fight of the year, the title hopeful has some good news for his growing army of fans - another bout could be on the cards in December.
