GSK Ulverston Rangers are safely through to the second round of the West Lancashire League Presidents Cup after a two-goal salvo from Danny Leech sealed victory over Cumbrian rivals Dalton United.

The tie went with league form as high-flying Rangers, currently fifth in Division One, brushed bottom-of-the-table Dalton aside.

Leech opened the scoring in the 12th minute and doubled his and Rangers tally with a second 10 minutes from time.

In the Premier Division, Crookland Casuals suffered a 5-1 hammering at title-chasing Longridge Town where Brad Carsley scored all five goals.

Carsley opened the scoring in the 29th minute and grabbed a second seven minutes later. He completed his hat-trick on the hour mark before adding two more - the fifth from the penalty spot in the 76th minute.

The defeat, Crooklands ninth of the season, leaves them in 12th place.

In Division Two, Kendal County's trip to CMB was the match of the day with the top-of-the-table clash finishing honours even.

Paul Hallows put the hosts ahead on the half hour mark and it was a lead they held until the 52nd minute when Steve Robinson levelled for County.

The draw leaves CMB on top with 26 points and County second with 21 points.

Milnthorpe Corinthians clash with Stoneclough was postponed as Corinthians were in Westmorland Cup action while Swarthmoor Social's home match with Furness Rovers was also postponed.
